Lafage is a charming traditional stone farmhouse built over a vaulted cellar in a secluded position and approached up a long drive. The farmhouse nestles in a south-facing hillside and is surrounded by twelve acres of woodland and rough pasture. The woods make a wonderful playground for both children and their parents. There is a south-west facing sun terrace with a barbecue and lovely views across the valley to a 12^th century Château.

Lafage is south of the River Lot (about 30 miles South of the Dordogne area), and 15 miles west of Cahors, a market town, renowned for its excellent wine. In the surrounding countryside there are many unspoilt historic towns, ancient Chateaux and several interesting underground caves, including those at Peche-Merle. Riding, fishing and canoeing are some of the local attractions.

Montcuq is the local small hilltop town, with a striking 13th century tower, a pretty bathing lake, Tennis Courts, and a Swimming Pool. On Sunday mornings there is a colourful market. Good and reasonably priced restaurants are found in Lauzerte, Sauzet and Montcuq.

Bedrooms

Lafage has three bedrooms. Bedroom 1 is a sunny room with a double bed, a writing desk and a sofa. Upstairs there are two pretty bedrooms with exposed oak beams. Bedroom 2 has a double bed, a single bed and a baby's wicker cradle. Bedroom 3 has three single beds and a low sided French cot.

NB: Linen and towels are not normally provided at Lafage, please enquire if you cannot bring your own. All the beds are supplied with pillows, blankets and bedspreads.

Bathroom

The bathroom has a full sized bath with shower attachment, wash basin and lavatory.

Farmhouse Kitchen / Sitting Room

The farmhouse kitchen has exposed beams, a large inglenook fireplace and a pretty quarry tiled floor. There is a Gas cooker, large fridge/deepfreeze and a washing machine. The kitchen is equipped with cooking utensils, china, glass and cutlery. There are eight dining chairs and one high chair for a child.

Cellar

There is table-tennis in the vaulted cellar.
