Peregrine Heathcote studied in Florence and now paints exquisite portraits in classical styles. His portraits, landscapes and still lives are based on the classical drawing and painting techniques, using the study of light as a fundamental aspect in enhancing realism. His paintings have deep, rich colours obtained by glazing - a way of painting which was practised by both Rembrandt and Velasquez.
